I felt very misled by all the five-star ratings for this book. The premise was interesting, but as I read, I found the book to be very poorly written. It came across like something written by an adolescent with a little science knowledge, a wild imagination, and poor English skills. Just so others who may stumble across this book will know, it probably doesn't deserve the ratings that were showing when I bought the book. I wonder if a chosen group of people wrote all the other reviews.

Genetic Memory Tim Dunn 9781497361225 Books Reviews

Awesome, awesome book! It keeps you wondering and guessing the whole way through. Somehow Dunn has found a way to pull your story into his. It's a novel that weaves in the history of us all, and the questions we all ask. The story of Adam Dory and the concept of Genetic Memory is engaging and thought provoking, with a teasing dose of introspection.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was entertaining, suspenseful and thought provoking. The momentum grew with each page as you are taken on an adventure with Adam to answer some of life's most important questions. Who am I? Why am I here? As is custom with this author, there are twists along the way that you never see coming! This book is a great read on its own or in succession with Monomania, the first book from this author. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a change from the mundane.
Tim Dunn creates a fascinating story line with Genetic Memory. A blend of religion and sci-fi kept my interest throughout. Exquisite detail in some areas create very real imagery of events throughout the story. I'm a slow reader and it took me about 2 months to finish. I read nearly every word, so I noticed a few grammar issues and typos, but getting past that, an amazing story that allows you to come to your own conclusion. Looking forward to more!
Genetic Memory is Dunn’s second novel. It has been my experience that an author’s second novel may fall short of the first novel. This is not the case with Dunn’s novel. It reads very differently than his first, more a linear story line with scripture woven into the larger fictional plot. The characters are well defined; you'll feel like you know them. The biblical descriptions are so vivid you'll be seeing the story in your mind while reading it. And Dunn leaves you with a suspenseful conclusion to each chapter with surprises throughout the book. I honestly had the “couldn't put it down” feeling and, in my opinion, that's when you know you have a great book in your hand!

I can't wait to read his 3rd book.
I love the story line . IF you read Monomania - The Autobiography of Tom Dory. This is a must read.
I absolutely enjoyed reading Genetic Memory. Very well written book that takes you through unexpected twists and turns, with a gripping ending! I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a compelling, interesting story.
Very interesting concept and book!
